So now it ends, any ties left with Cyberglobe have been severed. Yesterday I was told that I and several other players will not have a role in the new Cyberglobe.

The old Cyberglobe was always plagued by times where morale was low and negativity was out of control on ventrilo. We had several meetings to try to address this issue, and while the meetings worked for a few days, but you can't change people. There are two breeds of players out there, some that are very intense with their communication, and probably the minority of players that are perma-chill. You can't just flip a switch and change who you are.

Kudos was fed up with the negativity on ventrilo, he had expressed that he was going to quit Cyberglobe. Kg did his best to salvage the situation and with Cyberglobe's backing kicked the 3 players and recruited 3 new players. Their thinking was focused on long term. These moves showed the schism of ideals and goals. Some of the old Cyberglobe.zfz wanted just to play and be a top team and did not pay enough attention to their behavior on ventrilo. Others wanted to go pro, and have a calm ventrilo.

On a personal note as one of the architects for zfz's sof2 team, wolf et team, and CyberXGaming team. If i could change anything about how I helped run the early COD team; I wouldn't. This team has always been about kicking ass and playing with friends. I still consider anyone that was in zfz as a friend, and will always be happy for my former teammates' successes.

zfz is not in the business to be the next smile-for-the-camera hand-shaking money-team. We have no aspirations to be "famous" in any community of gamers. To me, online gaming is about making your opponent take a seat and laughing with your teammates on ventrilo.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! we celebrate with a nail biting win over TAU on mp_powcamp. Cyberglobe emerges victorious after taking a punishing 4-8 loss on allies, we quickly rebounded with several defensive rallies. Our squad seemed to be firing on all cylinders posting up a brutal 9-3 defensive wall to stop the TAU offense.

In other matches: we toppled the up and coming HFE squad on mp_powcamp for the CAL match of the week! They fought hard, and they fought well, but we edged them out 11-9. Many thanks to TSN for shoutcasting!

On the membership front: we have made changes, only active players are wearing the Cyberglobe tag. We have started playing with synthetic, and our strategy is going to be to proceed with these set starters, and go where it takes us. I've noticed a lot of teams we've played recently dropping players or disbanding after a loss. I can only try to advise them not to give up. CAL playoffs news: in our round one match we were feeling very good having a week to prepare for our first playoffs match against team WTF on a mp_carentan. WTF put up a great fight but were eventually dispatched 14-7. In our second round playoffs match we faced the much more formidable Gamewyze team. Unfortunately we were unable to take home the win, taking a loss in overtime. On the upside, I'm sure it was one of the more exciting match of the week's to spectate and listen to on TSN.

Our very own Killagorilla has started writing for gotfragged.com! check out his last writeup on the Cyberglobe.zfz vs GW playoffs match, it's a great read.

Now that there is a lull in our match schedule, we're looking to join some new leagues and have some fun.

A couple new developments from the front, firstly we've been steadily rebuilding our squad. You may see some familiar faces on our roster as we progress through this season of CAL.

Since the last update, we've had two CAL matches, the first against Lethal Warriors a team we've known since the SOF2 days. We played LW on mp_depot, LW came out strong early in each half, but we were able to edge them out by adapting to their strats.

Last night we faced off against Hellfire Empire, a top team in our division, HFE took the first half 7-6 as allies, when we switched sides we edged them out 13-9 going on a 7-2 romp as allies. This win seals our spot for the playoffs, it is an exciting time for us comrades!

Comrades, this day will be the proudest day you have ever lived!

Today, we had a match against Tactical Assault Unit on harbor, which ended up being a blowout as they could not field a full team. We would have rather played a full squad but we already have two forfeit wins.

If you have been in our IRC channel recently and noticed we've moved it is because we have joined our sponsor Cyberglobe as their Call of Duty division. Yesterday Tripp and I finalized the talks with the owner of Cyberglobe and Railz, with Cyberglobe's sponsorship, our travel arrangements for major CoD LAN competitions will be taken care of.

Our IRC channel is now #Cyberglobe on irc.gamesnet.net.

Strong in our friendship tried by fire, long lay our crimson flag in spire, shining in glory for all men to see.

Our first "match of the week", we faced off against our friends from Esoteric on Dawnville. We did prepare for this map for CXG, so we were well prepared. TSN did a shoutcast of the match you can check it out by clicking here. Scores are reported on our match page as usual.

The biggest news as of late is the CPL's announcement of a CoD tournament, we are currently in the planning stages for that event. We are having roster changes, new people trickling in, old friends going out.

We fought for the future, destroyed the invader, and brought to our homeland the laurels of fame. A glory will live in the memory of nations, and all generations will honor her name.

In our second CAL match, we defeated ActionlLeagueNow on Pavlov. A lot of preparation went into this game, and it showed in our performance. Gotfrag.com did an pre-cxg interview with us a week ago, check it out.

Most of last week ZFZ was attending CyberXGaming in Las Vegas. I wrote up a press release which includes links to the event coverage and demos of our matches which are hosted on gotfrag.com. Pictures of our trip can be found in our CXG 2004 photo gallery. Keiju from acfclan.com did a post-cxg interview with us in which we talk in depth about our feelings about some of the issues we had with the tournament. The match page will be updated with the matches we played at CXG 2004.

Long live our Soviet Motherland, Built by the people's mighty hand!

We had our first CAL match last week, on Brecourt against VDP; which means I've got to get the match page up and running. The match was really fun, and overall I'm pretty excited about our future matches. We've also made some additions to our roster page with some old friends, DrWho and Wombat. We've competed on LAN with both Ryan and Mark, I think they will be valuable additions to the ZFZ CoD Team.

As CoD continues to grow and more of our friends start playing, you may see some familiar faces scrimming with us. Our starting "spots" are currently filled.

For the Motherland's Sake, Go Forward, Heroes! - Celebrate comrades! Our DNS is up and running on our new box.

We have also signed up for CAL's COD league. Feel free to swing by our channel and ask us for scrims, we're on #zfz on irc.enterthegame.com and irc.gamesnet.net. Our roster is going to go through some fluctuations as we become more active, and we'll make any changes as needed. We are not currently recruiting, any changes in the status of recruiting will be posted in the chanel topic or on the webpage.

In other news: ZFZ is planning on sending a team to CyberXGaming in Vegas Jan8-11th.
